Power Plays Record: 86-66
Canadiens @ Lightning – Game 2 – Canadiens Puck Line +1.5 (1.68 | -147) + Under 5.0 Goals (1.95 | -105)
Expect the Habs to bounce back following an uncharacteristic playoff loss to the Bolts in game 1. The 5-1 score may make the game seem a little more lopsided than it was. The Lightning only generated an expected goals value of 2.41 in the series opener which tells us they slightly overachieved offensively.
Montreal, on the other hand, was only able to muster up 1.28 expected goals for in game 1 which is well under their playoff average of 2.45. The Canadiens produced just 2.0 forecheck chances, 2.0 cycle chances, and 0 rebound chances in their loss. Call it nerves or Cup Final jitters but the Habs did not look like themselves on Monday night.
Don’t pass on the +1.5 spread and the under in this one. Anything can happen in the Stanley Cup Finals and we’re not ready to write off the Habs’ Cinderella run just yet.
