Bruins @ Islanders – Game 6 – Islanders Money Line (2.15 | +115) or Islanders Puck Line +1.5 (1.43 | -233)
Coming off a pivotal game 5 loss at home where Tuukka Rask exited the game after seeing just 16 shots, the Bruins face the daunting task of going to Long Island and leaving with a win. Sportsbooks are giving prime underdog on the Isles at home and we suggest you take advantage of it.
The series has been much more offensive than we anticipated which goes against Barry Trotz and the Islanders’ reputation however, New York has gone along with this run and gun style of play and is going punch for punch with the Bs. The difference has been goaltending. The Islanders have generated just 2.65 expected goals for per game in the series but are averaging 3.20 actual goals per game which tells us that Rask isn’t making the saves he’s supposed to be making.
Semyon Varlamov, on the other hand, has stepped up. He ranks 2nd and 3rd among playoff goaltenders in slot save percentage (.878) and inner slot save percentage (.897) respectively and those numbers have jumped to (.902) and (.929) against the Bruins. If Varlamov can be equal to the task for one more night, the Isles will be hoping on the next flight to Tampa for a date with the Lightning in the semi-finals.
