Power Plays Record: 70-57

Jets @ Canadiens – Game 5 – Under 5.5 Goals (1.71 | -141)

The Habs are one win away from punching their ticket to the semi-finals while the Jets are still looking for any sort of offence. Lock in the 5.5 goal under tonight as both teams have a long way to go before being considered offensive threats.

The Jets are averaging 7.7 slot shots per game in the series with the Canadiens. That’s basically half the amount they averaged in their matchup with the Oilers. (13.3 per game) Carey Price is in Conn Smythe form at the moment and if the Jets keep peppering him with outside shots, we might as well start engraving his name on the trophy from now.

The Habs on the other hand have put up 5 goals in two separate games this series which is concerning however, their offensive numbers aren’t jumping out at us. They still rank in the bottom three among playoff teams in shots on net, slot shots, slot pass completions, cycle chances, and forecheck chances per game.

Winnipeg has no choice but to throw the kitchen sink at Montreal tonight so expect some increased o-zone possession time for the Jets and a slight dip in quality scoring for the Canadiens. Music to Connor Hellebuyck’s and our ears.
