Maple Leafs @ Jets – Under 6 Goals (1.87 | -115)

We’re almost there ladies and gentlemen. One more night of meaningless hockey until the hunt for Lord Stanley’s Cup begins. As we mentioned earlier this week; proceed with caution when betting on garbage time games. It doesn’t look like the Jets or Leafs will be resting key players tonight but that can change in a heartbeat.

Connor Hellebuyck and Jack Campbell draw the starts tonight so there’s some stability in goal. Campbell has been a pleasant surprise for the Leafs this season and his success can be linked to the team’s stellar defensive play. Toronto sits 5th league-wide in Expected Goals Against because of their ability to defend the slot. On average, Toronto allows 12.2 Slot Pass Completions and Slot Shots per game, both good for 4th in the NHL. Full credit to Campbell however, the entire roster deserves some recognition for what they’ve accomplished this season.

Hellebuyck on the other hand hasn’t been as lucky as he’s been left out to dry on a couple of occasions. With that being said, we are talking about Connor Hellebuyck here. He has the ability to steal a game on any given night which is why he’s ranked 5th in Goals Saved Above Expected per game among qualified netminders.

With so much uncertainty around tonight’s matchup, tailor your play around the only things we’re sure about which are; Toronto’s strong defensive play and Hellebuyck’s game-changing talent.
